Alison Lindsay McCain, 39, passed away December 21st, 2016 at her residence in Madison, MS.
Alison (Ali) was born on June 27, 1977 to Talbot Odom McCain and Gay Whitley McCain. She was raised in Greenwood, MS, and attended Pillow Academy. After graduating from Pillow in 1995, she attended Ole Miss where she earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education, as well as her master's degree in early childhood development. While at Ole Miss, Ali was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was also presented as a debutante to the Southern Debutante Assembly in 1996.
Ali spent many years teaching in the Jackson public schools, the Nashville public schools, and later in the Salt Lake City public schools. She loved children and animals her entire life.
She is survived by her parents, Talbot Odom McCain and Gay Whitley McCain of Greenwood; her brother, Talbot McCain II and wife Brooke Hutchinson McCain, and niece Natalie McCain of Southaven, MS; her sister, Shannon McCain Blakely and husband Bob Blakely, and nieces Whitley Blakely and Hudson Blakely of Madison, MS; and paternal grandmother, Priscilla Odom Metts of Madison, MS.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Frank and Virginia Whitley of Houston, TX; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Margie McCain of Houston, TX; and her paternal step-grandfather, John Metts of Yazoo City, MS.
Ali was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity. A private family service will be held with Rev. Peter Gray officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at a later date.
