Services for Mr. Alvin Jud Upchurch will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 11:00 AM at Liberty Baptist Church.

Mr. Upchurch, age 76, died on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at his residence in the Jefferson community in Carroll County, MS.

He was born on December 11, 1946 in Byram, MS, to the late Samuel Taylor Upchurch and Christine Pierce Upchurch. He was a farmer for twenty years then worked as a truck driver for Balkamp in Greenwood, MS for twenty years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane Hawkins Upchurch; sister, Janice Upchurch Hays; two brothers, Billy Gene Upchurch and Robert Taylor Upchurch; and a daughter-in-law, Angie Mosley Cather

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Janie Upchurch of Carrollton, MS; son, Alvin (Lisa) Upchurch of Greenwood, MS; daughters, Kelli (Eric) Castillo of Tupelo, MS, and Kim (John) Baranello of Oxford, MS; five grandchildren, Taylor (Paige) Upchurch, Haley (Johnny Ray) Brasel, Kayden Rigby, Shanna (Trey) Ferrell, and Janie Kaitlyn Upchurch; and six great-grandchildren Ethan Lunceford, Carlie Lunceford, Reagan Stevens, Mason Upchurch, Jane Ellis Brasel, and Trip Ferrell.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Tanner will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Taylor Upchurch, Eric Castillo, John Baranello, Johnny Ray Brasel, Bob Gammill, and Gene Costilow. Honoary pallbearers will be WD Avant, Jimmy Bennett, CD Whitfield, Gary Fulgham, Ricky Hays, Larry Bennett, and the late Walter Pennebaker and his family. Burial will be in Itta Bena Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the MDS Foundation or Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
