Annette Carlisle, 67, of Starkville, MS formerly of Carrollton, MS passed away peacefully Friday, September 26, 2014, at her home in Starkville, MS surrounded by her loving family and caregiver.

Graveside service will be held at noon on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, Mississippi. Rev. Tommy Clark will officiate. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Annette was born in Greenwood, Mississippi in 1947 and graduated from Greenwood High School. She attended Mississippi Delta Junior College and worked at South Central Bell and the United States Division of Agriculture Cotton Division as a cotton classer in Greenwood. After moving to Carroll County, Annette was employed at Farm Bureau and later became Justice Court Clerk of Carroll County.
Annette had the gift of writing poetry and fiction. Annette came to know the Lord as a child, attending First Baptist Church in Greenwood. After moving to Carrollton, she became a member of North Carrollton Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and women's ensemble, Women of Praise.

Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee Carlisle and a brother, Larry Neil McGehee, as well as her maternal grandparents, James Marcus and Hazel Boyd, and paternal grandparents, Earl and Irma McGehee.

Annette is survived by two sons, Harold Lee Carlisle, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Starkville and Jason Casey Carlisle of Flowood, grandson Elijiah Shiers Carlisle of Starkville, mother Doris Boyd McGehee of Starkville, father Clayton Neil McGehee (Marlene) of Greenwood, sister Patty McGehee Newsom of Starkville, nephews Trey Newsom and Trevor Newsom both of Nashville, TN, two step-granddaughters Laura Tyndall and Logan Waggoner of Starkville, step-great grandson Mason D. Tyndall, step-sister and step-brother Janet Henderson and Jimmy Sivley of Arkansas, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, caregiver Mary Senter, and other family and dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Trey Newsom, Trevor Newsom, Will Meadows, William Corder, Brock Marett, and Jophy Gee.
