Annie Lou Turner Wells

Services for Annie Lou Turner Wells will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 10:00 AM graveside in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, MS.

Mrs. Wells, age 88, died on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Indywood Glen.

She was born on April 14, 1932 in Money, MS, to the late Charles Benjamin and Lula Roberts Turner and was a lifelong resident of Leflore County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Greenwood, where she was a Sunday school teacher, and also was a member of the United Methodist Women. She retired from the Greenwood Public Library after 40 years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harding Wells; two brothers, Charles B. Turner, Jr., and Simon L. (Mary) Turner; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Emma Jones McKinney.

She is survived by her two daughters, Terrell (Robert) Hammett of Lexington, MS, and Ann Pridgen of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren, Haylie Hammett, Chase (Traci) Hammett, Chris (Courtney) Pridgen, Hunter (Megan) Pridgen; six great grandchildren, Cecil Hammett, Chase Hammett, Jr., Charlotte Hammett, Charlie Pridgen, Grayson Pridgen, Turner Pridgen; sister-in-law, Jackie Turner of Indianola, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rev. Glenn Seefeld will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Chase Hammett, Chase Hammett, Jr., Hunter Pridgen, Chris Pridgen, Jack Turner, and Stephen Pridgen.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Greenwood, MS, or Riverside Baptist Church in Money, MS.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Kenny Hines, and the Staff of Indywood Glen for the exceptional care Mrs. Wells received.
