Obituary

Charles Vincent "Bae Brother" Cascio, 71, passed away on June 8, 2015 following a short illness. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his family at his home in Greenwood.
Born on June 25, 1943, Bae attended Greenwood Public Schools and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1961. He attended Delta State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While at Delta State, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and served as fraternity president his senior year.
Before attending Delta State, Bae played football at Mississippi Delta Community College. During his college years, Bae was a member of the Army National Guard and later spent many years as a member of the Army Reserves.
After college, Bae went to work for the family business, New Deal Tobacco and Candy Co., until it closed in 1991. He was employed as the Assistant General Manger of the Alluvian Hotel in downtown Greenwood since it opened in 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Karine Smith Cascio; six children, Chris Cascio (Meagan) of Greenwood, Charlie Cascio (Stacy) of Oxford, Shelby Cascio Green (Chris) of Nashville, Tennessee, Kate August Cascio of Grand Canyon, Arizona, Anna Gregory (Terrence Bishop) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Thomas Gregory III of Greenwood; and eight grandchildren, Robert Cascio, Reed Cascio, Rivers Cascio, Hayden Hudson Cascio, Hally Grace Hudson Cascio, Charles Cascio, Porter Green, and Augusta Green.
He is also survived by his brothers, Anthony Cascio (Shirley) and Joe Cascio (Carol); and his sister, Cheryl Cascio Ewing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Anthony Cascio, and his mother, Darlene Tuminello Cascio.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday June 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Church of The Nativity. The funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Peter Gray will officiate.
Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Kevin Cascio, Peyton Cascio, Tommy Ewing, Mike Ewing, Joseph Cascio, Heath Smith and Kelly Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be McLeod Meek, Don Brock, Jr., Lee Pruett, Colby Galey, Palmer Brock, and Taylor Calhoun.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Greenwood Leflore Hospital and Community Hospice for the wonderful care and comfort they provided during Bae's final days.
