Funeral services for Beatrice Ann "Bootsie" Hartsell McLellan, 88, of Vaiden, formerly of Greenwood, who died Jan. 26, 2025, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, MS.  Visitation will be at 9:00 at the funeral home until the time of the service. Visitation will be at 9:00 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The Rev. Rupert Ingram will officiate the services.

A native of Columbus, she was born July 30, 1936, to the late Joseph Carroll Hartsell and Sallie Ann Farley Hartsell Johnson. She attended Stephen D. Lee High School. While working as a waitress at the Alice Cafe in Greenwood, she met her future husband, the late Orman C. "Jack" McLellan, who was on leave from the Army. They were married at the Leflore County Courthouse a few months later on April 14, 1954, before heading to Fort Sill, Okla., where he was stationed.

Following her husband's discharge from the Army, they returned to Greenwood, where she worked for several years at Supreme Electronics until leaving the workforce for good after the birth of their fourth child.  After living in Greenwood for over 40 years, she and her husband moved to McCarley in 1999. A longtime member of First Baptist Church, she joined McCarley Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir. Following her husband's death, she moved to Orlando, Fla., for several years before returning to Vaiden in 2023.

In addition to her husband of 57 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Ann McLellan Wolfe, two grandsons, Eric Wolfe and Jerod McLellan, a great-grandson, Lane McLellan, a brother, J.C. Hartsell Jr., and three sisters, Grace Prachniak, Jean Pruitt Daniel and Faye Bennett.

She is survived by two daughters, Grace Minyard of Orlando and Janice Bland (Steve) of Richland, three sons, Mike McLellan (Marla) and Larry McLellan, both of Greenwood, and Robbie McLellan of McCarley, 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Smith (Brandon) of Vaiden, Jennifer Minyard of Orlando, Melanie Wilson (Scott) of Deland, Fla., Robbie McLellan Jr. and Doshie Montgomery (C.J.), both of Greenwood, Jordy Bland (Rachel) of Richland and Mallory Bland, of Brandon, Casey Jones of Carrollton, Maggie Taylor (Ryan) of Winona, and Mack McLellan (Laura) of Oxford, 21 great-grandchildren, Justin Smith (Emily) of Vaiden, Phillip Smith (Devin Che') of Yazoo City, Christian Smith of Vaiden, Hunter Smith (Olivia) of Sturgis, Caroline Wilson, Annabelle Wilson and Ethan Wilson, all of Deland, Jack McLellan, Rainey McLellan, Charlie Montgomery, Neely Hart Montgomery and Mac Montgomery, all of Greenwood, Jake Bland, Ollie Bland, Ray Wimberley, and Maddy Wimberley, all of Richland, Hartley Jones of Carrollton, Sadler Taylor, Molly Taylor and Mary Abbott Taylor, all of Winona, and Nicholas Minyard of Orlando, two great-great-grandsons, Tommy Smith of Yazoo City and Emmett Smith of Vaiden, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robbie McLellan, Jr., Jordy Bland, Mack McLellan, Jack McLellan, Justin Smith, Phillip Smith, Christian Smith and Hunter Smith.
