Betty Jean Mims, 92, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died Monday, May 19, 2025 at Golden Age Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in Valley Hill Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Luke Pogue will officiate the services.

Betty was born June 26, 1932 in Sunflower, to the late James Henley and Gladys Kirkley Henley. She was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a God fearing woman who loved her family deeply and was the best mother a son could ask for. She loved to travel to Branson, MO.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.W. Mims; daughter, Lucinda Mims; grandson, Dawson Mims; sister, Dixie Pittman; and brothers, James William Henley, Jr., Earl Henley, and Harry Henley.

She is survived by her sons, Keith Mims (Wendy) of Greenwood, MS, and Jeff Mims (Donna) of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Brittany Myers (Tracy), Krystal Webb, Erica Hamilton (Daniel), Gunnar Mims (Arionna), Josh Mims (Tyra), and Kacie Rape (John); and nine great grandchildren.
