Bettye Frances Gibson Henderson, 85 of Minter City went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Tupelo, MS. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville. Rev. Bob O'Neal will officiate.

Mrs. Henderson was born December 14, 1929 to Robert Elmer and Jessie Hunt Gibson. She graduated from Ruleville High School, where she served as Senior Class Vice President of the class of 1947. Bettye married her sweetheart and next door neighbor, John L. Henderson on August 15, 1948. She worked 34 years for the United States Postal Service where she retired as Postmaster of the Minter City Post Office. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Minter City. Mrs. Henderson had resided since June 2011 at Avonlea Assisted Living Center of Tupelo, MS. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years John L. Henderson, son Alan L. Henderson and one granddaughter Heather Henderson Schuhr.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by her daughter Lynne Rogers and her husband, Robert of Tupelo; a son Wayne Henderson and his wife Nell of Minter City; granddaughters Leslie Dawn Minor of Gautier, Hayley Murrell and her husband Michael of Schlater, a grandson Garrett Rogers of Tupelo and great-grandsons, Lance Minor and Brandon Minor and Tristen Murrell.
