Bobby Carol Blansett

Services for Bobby Carol Blansett will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mr. Blansett, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Riverview Nursing Home in Greenwood.

He was born on May 21, 1932 in Quitman County, MS, to the late Randolph and Ruth Blansett. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1950 then married the love of his life Mary Nell Cothran. They were married for 71 years. During their marriage, he served in the Naval Reserve, sold insurance, and was a car salesman. He eventually opened his own business, Bob's Janitorial Service. Upon retirement he operated a small farm in his childhood home in Money, MS. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Michael Blansett.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Cothran Blansett; son, Robert Blansett; daughter, Kimberly Blansett (Sam) Rustom; daughter in law, Pamela Blansett Rogers; sister, Barbara Ruth (Roy) Petty; six grandchildren, Stephanie Coker, Jennifer (Jeff) Trusty, Bethany Blansett Williams, Sam (Leigh) Rustom, Jr., Ellis (Shelby) Rustom, and Phillip Rustom; six great grandchildren, Chael Coker, Kaitlyn Coker, Jenna Coker, Baylee Trusty, Landon Trusty, and Brayden Trusty; and two great-great grandchildren, Tatum Tillman and Wes Coker.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home.  Bro. Mark Shiers and Bro. Luke Quinn will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Sam Rustom, Jr., Ellis Rustom, Phillip Rustom, Chael Coker, Baylee Trusty, Landon Trusty, and Brayden Trusty. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.  A special thank you to Dr. Charles Nause, the amazing nurses on the 4 ^th floor of Greenwood Leflore Hospital, the staff of Riverview Nursing Home, and Heart of Hospice.
