Broadus Upchurch, 71, of Teoc died Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Services will be 10 A. M. Monday, September 2, 2013 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Moore's Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Bernard Wiggins will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Upchurch was a native of Montgomery County and had been a longtime resident of Leflore and Carroll Counties. He was a member and honorary deacon of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God.
He worked for many years for Upchurch Plumbing as a supervisor, was an avid sportsman and loved his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Ulen and Mozell Upchurch Gregg, his step-father Roger Gregg, his brother Vennis Upchurch, a granddaughter McKenzie Britt and a great-granddaughterHannah Blount.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Carpenter Upchurch of Teoc,MS, two daughters Telisa Britt and Annette McDonald of Carrollton, MS. Three sons Ronald Upchurch of Carrollton, MS, Marcus Upchurch of Lavergne, TN and Anthony Upchurch of Carrollton, MS. Two sisters Beatrice Ellis of Greenwood and Pam Alford of Leland, four brothers Asie Upchurch of Byram, Ralph Upchurch of Greenwood, Richard Upchurch and Jerry Upchurch of Carrollton, MS, fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Upchurch, David Upchurch, Mike Upchurch, Brandon Upchurch, Michael Turner, Hunter Upchurch, Scott Upchurch, Scott Upchurch, Charles Long and Tommy Beard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Kent, Employees of Upchurch Plumbing and Deacons of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God.
