Obituary

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Carly Marie Dean, who left this world far too soon on July 22, 2025, at the age of 27. Born on July 13, 1998, in Flowood, Mississippi, Carly made her home in Cruger, Mississippi, where she was surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Carly was a beautiful soul with an infectious smile that brought light to every room she entered. She was kind, compassionate, and generous, always putting others before herself. Her strength, grace, and impeccable work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished cats, Nala and Remi, who brought her comfort and joy. Carly's gentle spirit and devotion to her pets reflected the love she showed in all areas of her life.

Carly worked at Modine Manufacturing Company in Grenada, Mississippi, where she was known for her reliability, dedication, and the positive energy she brought to those around her.

She is survived by her parents, Tracy and Andy Braswell, Jr. of Cruger, Mississippi, and Bruce and Lynn Dean of Tupelo, Mississippi; and her siblings, Taylor Ann (Kyle) Hartman and their children, Fields and Charlie, of Hernando, Mississippi; Cole Dean of Tupelo, Mississippi; Elizabeth (Justin) Lopez and their children, Clara Beth, Gabriella, Daniel, and Thomas, of Greenwood, Mississippi; William Braswell of Greenwood, Mississippi; Tyler (Kristin) Vuncannon and their children, Ella Reese, Rivers, Preslee, and Lainey Vuncannon; and Dylan Vuncannon of Dallas, Texas.

Carly is also survived by her grandparents, Shirley Garrard of Brandon, Mississippi; Andy and Janie Braswell of Itta Bena, Mississippi; Jr. and Connie Ralph of Ripley, Mississippi; and Marci (Harold) Russell of West, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, HC Garrard and Max Edward Dean.

She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, who will cherish her memory always.

She will be deeply missed by her extended family, many dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her love, light, and laughter.

Memorials may be made to the Leflore County Humane Society in Greenwood, Mississippi, in honor of Carlys lifelong love for animals.

Though her time with us was far too brief, the love she gave and the joy she spread will remain in our hearts forever.
