Carson Erie Morgan, age 77, passed away peacefully from this life to meet his Lord and Savior on March 19, 2016 at the Veterans Home in Oxford Mississippi from COPD complications. Carson was the youngest of five children born to Charles E. Morgan and Annie Idora Morgan on June 5, 1938, in Charleston MS. His older siblings proceeding him in death were; Charles 'Sonny' Morgan; Sarah Pyron; Dorothy Morgan and Earline Morgan. Carson married the love of his life, June Rose Murphree Morgan on December 21, 1957 at the Charleston Methodist Church.
Carson Erie Morgan joined the US Army following high school and was trained as a Signal Corps Specialist at Fort Gordon, GA. Leaving the army in 1961, Carson went to work at Henderson Generating Station, Farmers Supply and Scott Petroleum. Then implementing his earlier learned trades as a contractor and cabinet maker, Carson later moved his family to Olive Branch, MS in 1995 to build new subdivisions. As a result, he gained many new friends in north MS and continued to build until 2009. Earlier that year, when the love of his life, June Rose passed away, dad's will to live went with her.
Carson came back to his birthplace to live out his remaining years on his 'blessed hill,' as he called it, in Cascilla, MS. It gave dad great peace to sit in the early morning dawn watching the deer and rabbits play. The wonderful sounds of nature gave him the comfort he needed in his aging years.
Carson loved talking about the memories of his youth and the innocent fun he had playing with his cousins and friends as children growing up. He always spoke of his grandmother Cole and the sadness he felt when she passed. Grandma Cole raised him while his parents worked as share croppers in Charleston, MS.
Carson was a long time deacon and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood MS. He taught Sunday school for young adults along with his wife June and oftentimes, their home became a pleasant sanctuary. Dad is with His Heavenly Father now and wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ. We pray that God will give you the biggest mansion on a bigger hill! We love you daddy.
