Cecil F. Griffin, 74, passed away on April 20, 2015 at his home in Greenwood, MS. He is survived by his wife Brenda Griffin, and together they shared 53 years of marriage.

Cecil was the father of John (Alyson) Griffin of Gadsden, AL and Jimbo (DeAnn) Griffin of Grenada, MS. He was 'Papaw' to Brandon, Haley (Chris Ledbetter), Sarah Kate, Dillon, Lindsey, and Patrick; and the great-granddaddy of Gabriel. He is survived by his sister Flurette Myers of Columbus, MS, and his brothers Warren Griffin of Drew, MS and V.J. Griffin of Cleveland, MS.

Cecil worked at Delta Electric in Greenwood for 43 years, and he was an active member and deacon of North Greenwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding many miles to support his grandkids, and working, as well as playing, on the farm.

Visitation will be held at North Greenwood Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 9:30 to 11:00 am, followed immediately by the funeral services. The interment will be at 2:30 pm in Merigold, MS at the Merigold cemetery. The pallbearers are grandsons Brandon and Dillon Griffin, nephews Matt Williamson and Scott Griffin, and family friends Terry Canterbury, Kerry James, Harold Pittman, and Larry Walker. Honorary pallbearers are grandson Patrick Holman and nephew Marx Williamson.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the following: Bethany Baptist Church, 37 Bethany Church Rd., Merigold, MS 38759 or The Harris Mission Fund at North Greenwood Baptist Church, 615 Grand Blvd., Greenwood, MS 38930.
