Charlotte Henderson, 73, died March 5, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2025, at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, Mississippi. Visitation will precede the service at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Dr. Jim Phillips will officiate. Charlotte was born at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina, and was the oldest daughter of two born to James "Jimmy" Sidney and Mabyline Switzer Henderson.
Charlotte resided in Greenwood, Mississippi, and spent her teen years at school in Texas whereafter she found The Baddour Center in Sentobia, Mississippi, where she resided for over forty-five years. Charlotte was very involved at the Baddour Center during her time there. She enjoyed horseback riding, earning her STAR trips, winning Baddour's Got Talent in 2020 and spending time with her friends. Charlotte also loved to travel, but what she enjoyed most was talking to and spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabyline Henderson.
She is survived by her father, Mr. James "Jimmy" Henderson of Greenwood, Mississippi; sister, Ms. Corinne Henderson Abney of Savannah, Georgia; nephew, Holt Lowe of Oxford, Mississippi; niece, Evan and her husband Ryan Cowart of Savannah, Georgia; great-nieces, Jill Taylor Lowe (14) of Greenwood, Mississippi, Madelyn Lowe (11) of Greenwood, Mississippi, Emma-James Cowart (8) of Savannah, Georgia, Mary-Alan Cowart (5) of Savannah, Georgia, and Lucy-Fair Cowart (3) of Savannah, Georgia; and great-nephews Crews Lowe (9) of Greenwood, Mississippi and Jackson Lowe (9) of Greenwood Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Holt Lowe, Ryan Cowart, Jimmy Lott, Chris McQueen, Parke Pepper and Kenny Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Henderson, Crews Lowe, Jackson Lowe, Charles Bowman, Dynamite Kirk, Lance Mohamed and Randy Randall.
As a family, we would like to sincerely thank the amazing team of nurses and care givers, from the Baddour Center, who took such great care of Charlotte during her time there.
