Obituary

Cleo Revere Millwood Elliott, 86, of Carrollton, MS, died Saturday, December 14, 2024 at UMMC in Grenada, MS. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 20, 2024 in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, MS. Rev Lanny Haley and Rev. Owen Hitchcock will officiate the services.

Mrs. Elliott was born on February 16, 1938, in Belzoni, MS, to Vesta Millwood Ables and Paul Millwood. She married her lifelong love, Charles Elliott on June 2, 1957. For 67 years they lived a full life of love, laughter, worship, commitment, and doting on their family.

Cleo was a very proud and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who was always up for a bit of fun and shopping. She was a strong woman of faith who loved her Lord, family, and friends. She was happiest while visiting with a room full of people or just reading or sewing. People who knew her knew she would always have freshly baked goods to offer. She was very active in North Carrollton Baptist church including the WMU group, sewing group, and Operation Christmas Child. Until her later years, she was active in her Dulcimer Club and Red Hats.

Her work life over the years included Henson-Kickernick Factory in Lexington, Baldwin Factory in Greenwood, Gibson's Discount Store, JC Penny, bookkeeper for Elliott Electric Service, and finally church secretary for both Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Coila and Christ Baptist Church in Greenwood.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vesta Millwood Ables and Paul Millwood; sister, Sarah Ann Donald (Joe); and brothers, Cecil Millwood (Billye) and David Watson (Ruth).

She is survived by her husband, Charles Elliott of Carrollton, MS; sons, Charles Elliott, Jr. of Carrollton, MS, and Paul Elliott (Gail) of Clarksdale, MS; daughter, Donna Peavy (Ben) of Richland, MS; grandchildren, Jake Elliott (Kelly), Mandy Willard (Dylan), Justin Elliott, Mason Peavy, and Sarah Peavy; great grandchildren, Kady Elliott, Charles Owen Elliott, and Ellie Willard; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
