Services for Corinne Hope 'Tootie' Brashear will be held Monday September 22, 2014, 11:00 AM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS 38930
Mrs. Brashear, 92, died on Thursday September 18, 2014 at Indywood Glen of Heart Failure.
She was born on March 01, 1922 to the late Claude L. and Katie Murphy Brashear in Bowling Green, KY. She attended St. Joseph's Elementary Catholic School and Bowling Green Public School and graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in English and Biology. She became a Med Tech and worked in Palatine IL, Mayfield and Paducah KY before moving to Greenwood in 1952. She lived in the Nurses Quarters, which a coffee broker donated to house the Nurses at GLH because he had been pleased with the wonderful treatment his daughter received while a patient there. She retired from Greenwood Leflore Hospital in 1986 to take care of her ailing parents. She loved symphony music, was an avid golfer, fisherman, tennis player, softball player and loved to roller skate. She also loved reading and traveling. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Brashear.
She is survived by Brother, David Brashear of Cincinnati, OH.
Visitation will be held on Monday September 22, 2014 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Father Gregory Plata will officiate. Pallbearers will be Barry Barth, Eddie Barnes, Terrell Cobb, Morgan Gullage and Wayne Pittman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Carl Bernet, Dr. Charles Nause and Dr. Frank Stainback. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery following the service.
