Services for Daisy Lee Porter Tierce, formerly of Phillip, MS, will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mrs. Tierce, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Cumming Health and Rehab in Cumming, GA, with her loving son, George, by her side.

She was born on July 27, 1928 to Emmett and Mary Porter in Webb, MS. She married the love of her life, M.B. Tierce, on June 1, 1947. They were happily married for 50 years. Mrs. Tierce was a longtime resident of Phillip, MS, until moving to Cumming, GA, in November of 2011.

Mrs. Tierce was a retired supervisor from Carhartt South in Drew, MS. She retired in 1997 after 25 years of dedicated service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, M.B. Tierce, and son, Mitchell Tierce.

Mrs. Tierce is survived by her son, George Tierce (Carol) of Cumming, GA, granddaughters, Shelley Tierce Utz (Mike) of Greenwood, MS, and Gail Tierce of Cumming, GA, and great grandsons, Austin Utz, Andrew Utz, and Sheldon Utz all of Greenwood, MS. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Jean Little of Brazil, MS.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home and from 10:00am to 11:00am Thursday, February 15, 2018 prior to the funeral service.

Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sumner, MS. Doug Segars will officiate at the services.

Pallbearers will be Mike Utz, Andrew Utz, Sheldon Utz, Scott Little, Delmar Turney, and Lance Turney. Austin Utz will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family requests memorials be made to Chris Hope Foundation ( www.chrishopefoundation.org ) to assist families affected by childhood cancer.
