David Henderson "Judge" Campbell, 85, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5p.m. to 7p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Rev. Fletcher Moorman will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery in Carroll County.

On May 25, 1929, Henderson was born at his family home in Carroll County MS, to Henry Grady & Linnie Haley Campbell. He graduated from J.Z. George High School in North Carrollton. In 1948 he met & married the love of his life, Mary Geneva Jordan. They were married 58 years. He was a talented man who loved a challenge & could do anything he set his mind to. He refinished & upholstered antique furniture, farmed, cut timber & had a sawmill. His proudest accomplishment was restoring the Carrollton Community House in 2001, he loved hunting &fishing with his buddies, especially duck hunting & hand fishing. He always said he was "the best duck caller around". He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Grady and Linnie Haley Campbell, his wife Geneva Jordan Campbell, daughter Lacy Genyece Ratliff, brother Lloyd Campbell and sister Evelyn Pipkin.

He is survived by daughter Rebecca Best & husband Travis of Montrose, CO, son David Henderson Campbell & wife Charla of Carollton, grandchildren Andrea Best Connor, Travis Allen Best and wife Trish, Robin Ratliff Galey and husband Eddie, Tracy Campbell Holman and husband Charlie, Mary Campbell Corley and husband Bennie, He is also survived by his sisters Estelle Cooper & Mary Moore of Carrollton, Sadie Mann of Madison, 11 great grandchildren & numerous nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jack Sanders, Houston Sanders, Thomas Clunan, Charlie Montgomery, Allen Best and Bruce Beckwith. Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandsons.
