GREENWOOD - Dewey W."Bud" Lishman, Sr age 74, died on Monday June 09, 2014 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital of respiratory failure. He was born on December 21, 1939 to the late: T.F "Big Daddy" and Berdie Rivers Lishman in Avalon and resided in the Avalon area all of his life. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, and was a 3rd Degree Mason. He was a retired rural route mail carrier, and a farmer. He served in the US Army reserves.
Visitation will be held on 06/11/2014 10:00 AM to 11:00 at the Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services will be held 06/11/2014 11:00 AM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS with the Rev Gary Tanner officiating. Burial will be in the Moores Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Lishman, Trent Wixon, Kirk Rowsey, Wesley Hunt, Watson Lishman, and Austin Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Kenneth Hines, Dr Michael Boler, Willie James Stigler, Jim Hargrove, Hank Hargrove, Tommy Rowsey, Tom Fulton, Jack Heath, and Jack Lishman Jr.
He is survived by Wife, of 50 years, Elaine Watson Lishman of Avalon, MS, 2 Daughters, Tonya (Kevin) Wear of Collierville, TN, and Sonya (Brent) Rowsey of Batesville, MS, 1 Son, Dewey "Bubba" (Alice) Lishman, Jr of Grenada, MS, 1 Brother, Jack Kenneth Lishman of Leflore, MS, 1 Sister, Dorothy Elaine Wixon of Avalon, MS, 3 Grandchildren, Austin Lishman Smith, Morgan Rivers Smith, and Thomas Watson Lishman.
