Services for Donald Winston Watkins will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mr. Watkins, age 78, died on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on November 06, 1938 in Baird, MS, to the late G.A. and Evelyn Trice Watkins and resided in the Greenwood area all of his life. He retired from the Greenwood Fire Department after 29 years of service, and serving as Fire Chief for 7 years. Mr. Watkins also worked for the Greenwood Police Department and the Leflore County Sheriff's Department. He was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jason Edward Kidd, four brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Watkins of Itta Bena, MS; daughter, Linda Watkins (Jeff) Jones of Greenwood, MS; son, Michael Lee Kidd, Jr. of Greenwood, MS; three sisters, Lillian Simons of Itta Bena, MS, Irene Blount of Crystal Springs, MS, and Ann Floyd of McCarley, MS; and a grandson, Peyton Hunter Jones.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev Dennis McKay will officiate the services. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Banks, and Dr. Charles Nause.
