Mrs. Dorothy Green, 92, died of heart failure on Wednesday, March 29, 2017,at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood, MS.

She was born on November 5, 1924, in Attala County to Benne G. and Esther Woods Moss.  She resided in Greenwood for over 70 years where she worked as a grocery cashier for Kroger, Liberty Cash, and Piggly Wiggly stores.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Marvin D. Green; an infant daughter, Marlene Green; son, Terry W. Green; and five brothers, Leo Moss, Vester Moss, Earl Lee Moss, Jairl Moss, and A. D. Moss.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Green (Linda) of Carrollton; daughter-in-law, Diane Green of Greenwood;  daughter, Ann Green Gardner of Maumelle, Arkansas;  sister, Maurine Watkins (Joe) of Arley, Alabama;  brother, Jerry Moss of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and five grandchildren, Candy Vickers (Kevin) of Cleveland;  Payge Thornton (Scotty) of Carrollton; Terry Green, Jr. (Kimberly) of Madison; Claire Wilkerson (Brad) of Cabot, Arkansas; and Matthew King (Lindsey) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home, with the Bro. Ed McDaniel officiating.  Visitation will be Friday March 31, 2017, from 5:00p.m until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery on Carrollton Ave., Greenwood.
