Obituary

Dorothy L. "Dottie" Sharp , 74, of Greenwood, MS, died Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Golden Age Nursing Home. Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home followed by a 1 p.m. graveside service in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Carpenter will officiate.

Dottie was born October 11, 1944 in Grenada, MS, to James R. Sharp and Dorothy Horner Sharp. She moved to Greenwood after World War II with her parents. She graduated from Greenwood High School,   Mississippi Delta Community College, and Delta State University. She was a member of First Independent Methodist Church and the Mississippi Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Margaret Crider, and nephew, Ricky Hobson.

She is survived by her brother, Frank James "Jimmy" Sharp of Benton, AR; niece, Kelli Martin of Anniston, AL; nephews, Chip Bradford of Olive Branch, MS, Jeff Sharp of Benton, AR, Doug Sharp of Benton, AR, and Greg Sharp of Benton, AR; five great nephews, and six great nieces.

Pallbearers will be Randy Martin, Chip Bradford, Jeff Sharp, Doug Sharp, Greg Sharp and Park Haddon.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202, and the American Heart Association, 10900-B Stonelake Blvd. Suite 320, Austin, TX 78759.

Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
