Services for Edgar Barry Cannon Sr. will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 11:00 AM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood.

Mr. Cannon, age, 78, died on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on December 6, 1938 in Greenwood, MS, to the late Robert and Mollie Smith Cannon and resided in Minter City all of his life. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Cannon was a faithful member of the Minter City First Baptist Church serving as Deacon, song leader, and Sunday school teacher. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cannon.

He is survived by his Wife, Betty Cannon of Minter City, MS; two daughters, Cheri Mims and her husband, Gary of Minter City, MS, and Vicki Cannon counts and her husband, Ronnie of Schlater, MS; two sons, Edgar Barry Cannon Jr and his wife, Lisia of Minter City, MS, and James Neal Cannon of Minter City, MS; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Joe Brown Jr. will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Michael Mims, Matt Counts, Tate Cannon, Tyler Cannon, Matthew Brown, Phillip Rhodes, and Jeff Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Mike Boler, Dee Turner, and Collier Tillman. Burial will be in McNutt Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital. Wilson & Knight is in charge.
