Edna Lott Franklin died at her home Thanksgiving evening surrounded by her family. Services will be held 3p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood, MS.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Greenwood on December 4, 1943, the second daughter of Frances Dyer Lott and William Hardy Lott. She attended Greenwood city schools and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1961.
Mrs. Franklin attended the University of Mississippi where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority, and graduated in 1965 as a Taylor Medalist with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, cum laude. That same year, Edna married her high school sweetheart, William Webster Franklin.

Mrs. Franklin was a life long communicant of the Church of the Nativity, and was active for many years in the Greenwood Garden Club. She was a life-sustaining member of the Greenwood Junior Auxiliary and was an active member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution.

Edna is survived by her husband Webb as well as by her son Webster Cromwell Franklin of Tunica and his wife Penny, her daughter Lansdale Franklin Playford of Memphis and her husband Rich, three grandchildren, Hardy Lott Franklin, Elizabeth Burch Franklin and William Webster Playford, and her two sisters Laura Marley Lott of Houston, Texas and Martha Hardy Lott of Falls Church, Virginia. Her sister, Frances Lott Williams, predeceased her.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Mississippi Library Commission Rehab Service for the Blind or Church of Nativity Day School.
