Obituary

Eleanor Williams Shuler, 90 years old, of Greenwood, MS, passed away at her home on October 19, 2017. She was born on September 29, 1927 in Greenwood, MS, to the late Robert and Lena Williams. She was a graduate of MSCW and after graduation, worked for Delta Electric Power Association until her children were born. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood, where she served as a Circle Leader, President of the Women of the Church and as an Elder. She was also active in the Early Settlers, DAR, UDC, and the Colonial Dames. In addition, she had a very passionate love for genealogy and did extensive research into the family history. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and volunteering at the Museum of the Mississippi Delta. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, TS Shuler.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Shuler, and his wife, Jenny of Sardis, MS; daughter, Diane Ashley, and her husband, Bob of Hattiesburg, MS; grandchildren, Benjamin Shuler, Rachel Thorn, Brett Ashley, and Scott Ashley; and seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Lillie, Holland, Benjamin, Haley, Shayla, and Samantha Rose.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Visitation will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 with the service to follow. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Steve Fortenberry will officiate. Wilson and Knight is in charge.
