Eleanor Elaine Tharpe

All the world's a stage... Elaine made her debut on March 10, 1958, in Greenwood, Mississippi, where she resided her entire life. She took her final bow at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS, on May 20, 2026. Elaine graduated high school from Pillow Academy and received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate from MDCC. She worked at GLH for 32 years. Her true passion was taking the stage at Greenwood Little Theater. Her greatest role in life was as Aunt Lanie. She was a kitty cat fanatic! She enjoyed feeding the birds, watching British television & she dearly loved her Facebook friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen, her father, Speedy, and her brother, Johnny.

She is survived by her nephew, Lawson Tharpe (Shelby); her niece, Kimberly Oates (Trey); and seven great nieces & nephews, Alyssa, Autry, Addey, Appie, Grant, Ava, Woodlynn. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Minerva. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Her minions Lucky & Mattie were waiting to welcome her home. And scene...

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Gore Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
