Elizabeth Ann Walls, 95, passed away Sunday morning, October 19, 2025, with her family by her side. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 24, at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home with Rev. George Mims officiating. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, Mississippi.
Ann was born on November 21, 1929, in Carroll County at the home of her grandmother, to Guy and Ruth Mims Jones.
She graduated from J.Z. George in 1948 and that same year married Kenneth "Ken" E. Walls, Sr. Together, they owned and operated Walls Grocery from 1961 until Ken's passing in 1988. Ann then continued her career as manager of Maxway until her retirement.
As a teenager, Ann was baptized in Pelucia Creek and attended Centerville Baptist Church. She later became a member of Valley Hill United Methodist Church. Ann was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary/VFW auxiliary, where she served as District President.
She was also active in political campaigns throughout her life and instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of voting.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Walls, Sr.; her parents; her siblings, Guy Jones Jr., Russell Jones, Ruth Reaves, Peggy Jean Jones, and an infant sister whom she lovingly cared for; as well as her grandson, Kenneth (Kent) E. Walls, III.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Kenny) E. Walls, Jr. of Carroll County; her daughters, Diane Rickles Peeples of Carroll County, and Jennifer Reese of Carroll County; and a sister, Becky Robertson of Black Hawk, MS.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandy Rickles, Rachel Walls Mitchell (Scott), and Melissa Ann Reese; and nine great-grandchildren, Sterling Clark, Justin Devall, John Luke Clark, Lane Reese, Conner Walls, Braden Devall, Edi-Ann Mitchell, Caroline Welch, and Issabella Welch.
