Faye Matthews , 79 of Greenwood, MS died Thursday, March 27, 2014 her residence . Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, MS. Rev. Perry Irvin will officiate. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Matthews was born August 17, 1934 to William and Minnie Lee Hood. She was a longtime resident of Greenwood and worked for Mims Oil Company and later McCormick and Company. She loved to work crossword puzzles and care for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Connie Brooks and her son Kenny Matthews.

Mrs. Matthews is survived by her son Eddie Gene Matthews of Greenwood, her sister Janelle Sudduth of Carrollton, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
