Flora Harrell Abraham peacefully entered Eternity on Friday, August 26, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and community servant. Mrs. Abraham was born on June 21, 1953 in Greenwood, MS to Gilbert and Clara Harrell. She graduated from Greenwood High School and attended Mississippi Delta Junior College while she was working at the U.S. Army Recruiting Office in Greenwood.
Mrs. Abraham had a gift of love that warmed the hearts of everyone she met. She lived a life of courage and with God's Grace, she triumphed over terminal illness at the age of 19 years old and led the remainder of her life surrounded by love with her beloved husband Sam for 40 years until she took her last breath. Mrs. Abraham was instrumental in organizing and leading the Greenwood Community Food Pantry and later was awarded the "The Book of Golden Deeds" Award by the Greenwood Exchange Club for her work. She was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and served on the boards of the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society and United Way.
Mrs. Abraham was preceded in death by her parents and also was a supporting caregiver for her in-laws, the late Albert Lee and Ruby Abraham. Mrs. Abraham is survived by her husband, Sam Abraham and two daughters, Randee Abraham Neal (Jason) and Beth Abraham Nicholson (Justin). In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Patsy Harrell Britt (Paul) of Minter City, Sheila MItchell of Biloxi, and a brother, Danny Harrell (Tammy) of Carrollton, along with grandchildren Brennan Clare Neal, Sam Carl Neal, and Landry Kate Neal of Grenada and Mary Leesam Nicholson and Caroline Nicholson of Greenwood. In addition, she is survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016, at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood from 5-7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Gregory Plata, O.F.M. will officiate at the service. Serving as pallbearers will be James "J. C." Cash, Jimmy Poe, Clavis Thornton, Jolly Matthews, Jim Hood, Harry S. "Butch" Hitchins, Hal Kent, and Tommy Elliot. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Michael Boler, Dr. Darrell Jee, Dr. Fred McMillan, Dr. Maurice Smith, Dr. Raja Khan, Dr. Aleksandra Jankov, and Dr. Lance Wright. The family also wishes to express its appreciation to Ms. Rosie Manuel and Mrs. Edna "Lou" Taylor for their loving care of Mrs. Abraham.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wilson and Knight Funeral Home, 910 Hwy. 82 West Greenwood, MS 38930. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery at 1635 Carrollton Avenue.
