Services for Frances Mozelle Parker Webb will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home with Rev. Preston Kelly, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM till 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Itta Bena Cemetery.

Frances Mozelle Parker Webb, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2022. Mozelle was the daughter of John Sidney Parker, Sr. and Frances Wright Parker of Sunflower. She attended Sunflower High School and Moorhead Junior College, where she was voted Most Beautiful and Best Dressed. At Moorhead, she met her future husband and love of her life, Eugene Webb, while singing in the choir. They married after graduation and went on to Ole Miss, where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. Afterwards, they moved to Memphis, where Eugene finished medical school at The University of Tennessee. She taught school in the Memphis area during this time and hated every minute of it. Once finished with medical school, they moved to Itta Bena, Mississippi, to set up Eugene's medical practice. They would go on to have wonderful life together there. They raised two amazing children, Jonni and Jack (Eugene Jr). She was a good mother and a devoted wife.

Mozelle was active in the First Baptist Church Choir, Itta Bena Woman's Club, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and more. For over 30 years, she attended exercise class in Greenwood twice a week and had many cherished friends there. She was known regionally as an accomplished oil painter with showings at Florewood and other galleries, selling her paintings all over the Delta. In 1972, Mozelle did an oil painting of the old railroad depot in Itta Bena, visualizing the repairs needed as she painted. The depot was eventually torn down and it became an iconic picture of Itta Bena. Most residents have prints of that painting today. She also produced a pen and ink drawing that became the logo for Itta Bena and is replicated on the billboard sign as you turn off Highway 82 towards town.

She and Eugene had the opportunity in 1975 to purchase one of the many Watershed Lakes in Carroll County. They spent most of their free time there over the years making it a beautiful place for family and friends to gather, as well as hunt and fish.

Her beautiful backyard was a good reason to stop and visit... she had flowers blooming in all seasons and it was always picture perfect. Friends and strangers stopped by to get tours of the yard. She was also known as the Pumpkin Lady for her pumpkin delivery every Fall to all the homes on Schley Street and for her fun and elaborate Fall decorations out front each year.

Being grandmother to Dustin and Parker was her true delight. They were so very special to her and she bragged about them to anyone who would take the time to listen. Mozelle had too many devoted friends to count... she genuinely cherished each and every one.

Mozelle was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Dr. Eugene F. Webb, and brothers, John Sidney Parker, Jr. and Joel T. Parker. She is survived by daughter, Jonni Webb and her fiance, Tom Pittman, of Madison, son, Jack Webb (Eugene Francis Webb, Jr) and daughter in law, Leigh Heritage Webb, of Madison, grandchildren, Dustin Poole (wife Colleen) of Smyrna, TN, and Parker Webb Bowling (husband Brett) of Nashville, TN, two great grandchildren, Nolan and Harper, sisters in law, Nancy Parker and Anne Webb, numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend, Katy Murphey. A special thank you goes to all her wonderful caregivers at The Waterford, Covenant Caregivers and Heart of Hospice.
