Funeral services for Sarah Frances Duke Wesley, 86, of Greenwood who passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 will be at 11:00 am at North Greenwood Baptist Church on Thursday, January 5, 2023 with visitation starting at 9:00 am. Graveside will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery.  The Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate the services.

Frances was a longtime Carroll County resident and member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.  She recently moved to Greenwood and joined the North Greenwood Baptist Church family.  She enjoyed being involved with the LLL fellowship group at North Greenwood and especially the ladies' activities.

She spent more than five decades as a cosmetologist in the Greenwood and Carrollton areas.  Frances had natural musical gifts such as singing, dancing, and playing the piano by ear.  These characteristics made her a joy for those who knew her.  Frances spent the last day of her life doing what she loved the most, working in her yard.  She took pride in caring for her family, her home, and especially her yard.

Most admired Frances for her strength and ability to handle the valleys of life and still face each day with determination and reasons to laugh and love.  Speaking of laughter, she was a lady full of funny limericks.  She had a great devotion to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her dog BooBoo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Lenis Duke, and her sons, Scottie Willard Clark and James Lamar Clark.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sherry Nelson McQueen (Kelly) and Mychell Clark Ussery (Rut), grandchildren, Mignon Nelson Hodges (Trey), Sara Jane Nelson Cole (Jon), James Hunter Ussery (Fawn), Betsy Nelson Belk (Adron), Shelby Ussery Gorman (Joseph), and Matthew Dillon Ussery (Allie), great grandchildren, Nelson Price Hodges, Izabelle Jane Hodges, Elijah Buford Gorman, Jane Lamar Belk, Lucille Rose Gorman, David Shepherd Cole, Charlotte Gail Belk, James Luke Ussery, Georgia Jane Cole, and Frederick Adron Belk IV.

Pallbearers will be Trey Hodges, Nelson Hodges, Jon Cole, Adron Belk, Hunter Ussery, Dillon Ussery, and Joseph Gorman.
