Genevieve C. Antoon, 87, of Greenwood died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Crystal Health & Rehab. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016 Graveside in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Father Greg Patala will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Antoon was born September 5, 1928 to Mike and Marie Sliman Antoon in Greenwood, MS. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School Class of 1947 and attended Dominican College where she received a certificate in secretarial science and was a member of Pheta Pi Sorority. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. After graduation she worked as a secretary and buyer in the family business, Antoon's Dry Goods Company, which was in business for ninety years. She was also manager of Western Union which was located at Hotel Irving. She was a member of the early Families Club, Birthday Club, and Class of 1947 quarterly luncheon. Ms. Antoon was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Blanche Antoon Bowab, Agnes Antoon Abdella, Lucille Antoon, Mary Helen Antoon and brother Paul Antoon.

She is survived by her cousin Nazira Antoon of Greenwood, MS, nine nieces and nephews, Mary Helen Graham of Atmore, Al, Alex Bowab of Fairhope, AL, Christine Gill of Flowood, MS, A.J. Bowab of Mobile, AL, Paul Abdella of Little Rock, AR, Genevieve Fouse of Eldorado, AR Lawrence Abdella of Houston, TX, Josephine Turner of Marvell, AR, and Marie Antoon of Birmingham, AL.
