Services for Gladys Marie Gardner will be held Sunday, September 15, 2019 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mrs. Gardner, age 81, died on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

She was born on September 17, 1937 in Sidon, MS, to Samuel and Gertrude Thomas Loper. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Gardner was a florist who loved to make floral arrangements for her church, and loved taking care of the many flowers in her yard, especially her roses and lilies. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a sister.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lee Gardner of Greenwood, MS; daughter, Denise Gardner of Greenwood, MS; son, Bud (Nila) Gardner of Greenwood, MS; five grandchildren, Wilson (Holley) Gardner of Starkville, MS, Paul (Forrest Hodge) Brown of Greenwood, MS, Matthew (Mandi) Gardner of Water Valley, MS, Amanda (Justin) Coleman of Madison, MS, and Kylie (Ben) Wilkerson of Oxford, MS, and 8 great grandchildren

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Dennis McKay will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Wilson Gardner, Matthew Gardner, Paul Brown, Forrest Hodge, Justin Coleman, and Ben Wilkerson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Gardner, Howard Gardner, and Brendan Pernell. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
