At 5:10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, Glenn Allen Brooks, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 11:00 a.m. at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Max Brooks will officiate the services.

Glenn was born on December 1,1944 in Tallahatchie County, east of Sumner in Friendship, Mississippi, to the late Sam A. Brooks and Vivian Flemmons Brooks. At 4 years of age, he and his family moved to Webb, Mississippi, from share cropping to building houses. Glenn started school in 1950 at Webb Swan Lake and graduated from West Tallahatchie High School in 1962. He was active in football and was a standout athlete in baseball. He attended Northwest Jr. College where he played left field on the baseball team. After college, Glenn moved to Cleveland, Mississippi. He accepted a job with the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation service and met his first wife, Susan Sizemore. In August of 1966, he moved to Greenwood and went to work for Mississippi Power and Light, with the sub-station, January 31,1966. He worked for 43 years, becoming the Operations Coordinator until his retirement from Entergy in 2009.  While in Greenwood, he served for 10 years as counselor of the youth group at St. John's United Methodist Church. He chaired The Missions Team on 5 different missions to Mexico and Jamaica. He was extremely proud of his youth that served in Missions. One of his favorite sayings was, "The sun rises and sets in Mexico and Jamaica, just like it does in the United States." He was also heavily involved in Little League Baseball for 12 years and then became coach of Men's and Women's Softball and also umpired for many years. During his working years, he worked with Habitat for Humanity in Leflore County and built many homes with the team.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Susan, who was the mother of his three children. He leaves his wife, Linda M. Brooks. They were married in 2006. He also leaves his children, Glenn Allen Brooks, Jr., of Quarryville, Pennsylvania, Joseph Maxwell "Max" Brooks (Tobey) of Ponchatoula, La., and Martha Elizabeth Brooks Duggar of Carrollton, MS. His grandchildren, Emma Grace Comer (Taylor), Katie Dugger, Drew Brooks, Noah Brooks, Sammy Brooks, Rachael Dugger, Blake Dugger, Eva Brooks and John Brantley Dugger. He leaves two sisters, Gail (Joe) Lyon, and Gwen (Vick) Perkins. He leaves two step daughters, Leigh Ann (Ron) McCluskey and Stephanie (Dee) Mallette.

He also leaves several good friends: Morris Lindsey, Keith McGee, Johnny Towery, Jimmy Morrow, Bobby Fortenberry, the members of Sweatman Hunting Club and the members of LIGHT Sunday School class of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greenville.

Pallbearers will be Blake Duggar, John Brantley Duggar, Drew Brooks, Noah Brooks, Sammy Brooks, Ben Perkins, and Stephen Linton
