Gloria Hood, 76, of Philipp, MS, died Thursday, December 19, 2024, at North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville, MS. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery, Payne, MS. Rev. Bobby Turner will officiate.

Gloria was born on September 21, 1948, to Marvin Chamblee and Jean Mabus. She was the third of eight children.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hood; brothers, Marvin Chamblee, Jr., and Donald Mabus; sister, Deborah Cummings; mother-in-law, Lucille Hood; and her parents.

Gloria is survived by her son, Fred Hood, Jr. of Phillip, MS; her granddaughter, Amber Colyer and husband Roger of Hernando, MS; three great granddaughters, Ellie, Marina, and Sadie; sisters, Brenda Spencer and husband Kenny West of Greenville, MS, and Shelia Dobbins and husband Randy of Greenville, MS; brothers, Larry Mabus and wife Cindy of Greenville, MS, and Ken Mabus and wife Donna of Brandon, MS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
