Grace Miller Long, age 68, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025. She was born October 18, 1956 in West Point, MS, to the late Rush Glenn and Gene Ramsey Miller. Grace was known for her deep connection to nature, music, friendships, and an unwavering love for all creatures, great and small.

Grace had a lifelong passion for animals. Whether her beloved pets or wild animals that wound up at her country cabin, she had a special bond with every animal she encountered - always seeking to protect and understand them. Her love of animals extended beyond the pets she cherished; many who knew her remember encounters with deer, skunks, and even an alligator in a bathtub.

A true music lover, Grace found solace and joy in melodies, rhythms, and the power of song. Whether she was listening to her favorite artists, singing and playing guitar, or sharing the gift of music with others, Grace believed in the power of music to heal, unite, and uplift the soul. Music was not just a passion for her; it always provided comfort and joy.

Nature, too, was a constant source of inspiration and peace for Grace. She spent countless hours gardening, working on outdoor projects, and finding wonder in the beauty of the world around her. Grace appreciated the simple, quiet moments in nature, always taking a step back and breathing in the beauty of the Earth.

Grace is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Lee (Ricky) Long, her grandson, Ross Long, and her parents, Glenn and Gene Miller.

Grace is survived by her children, Rebecca Maggiotto (Michael) of Indianapolis, IN, Gene Luke (David Christ) of Columbus, and Rhyine Long (Carrie) of Oxford; brothers, Stephen Miller (Debra) of Greenwood, Rush Miller of Brandon, and John Miller of Taylor; and her grandchildren, Anthony, Ricky, and Glenn Maggiotto, Jessica and Jacob Luke, and Andrew (Jasmine), Thomas, Mary Lusco, and Ann Frances Long; as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Grace's life will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Greenwood on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leflore County Humane Society in Grace's memory.

The family extends their gratitude to the team at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Vital Caring Group Hospice for their dedication and care.
