Harold Edwin Terry, age 90, died Monday, November 18, 2013 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka, Mississippi. He was born on June 5, 1923 to the late Lee and Elosie Diggs Terry. Harold had just recently relocated from his home of 65 years at Money, Mississippi to the Iuka area.
Harold was raised in the Lexington, Mississippi area. He moved to the Mississippi Delta while he was still in high school. After graduating from high school at Minter City, he attended Delta State University until the start of World War II. During the war, as a member of the US Army, he served in Africa and Italy. At the end of the war he returned to the Mississippi Delta and married his college sweetheart France Ryals. Shortly after they were married, Harold re-entered the Army and was sent to Columbus, Georgia where he helped train troops for the Korean War.
During his life, Harold was a farmer, law enforcement officer, crop insurance agent, and antique dealer. His last years were spent tending his cattle on his farm at Blackhawk, Mississippi.

Harold had no greater loves than his family, friends and the Mississippi Delta. Most of his life was spent outdoors hunting, fishing and tending his animals. Harold spent many hours sitting and visiting with his friends and family telling stories and sharing his wisdom.
Harold was preceded in death by a brother Harris Terry. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 23, 2013 1:00 p.m. at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Burial will be in the Acona Methodist Church Cemetery in Holmes County, MS where he was a member of the Acona Methodist Church.
Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances Ryals Terry and 2 sons: Henry Morgan Terry and wife Carolyn of Iuka, Mississippi; Sam Diggs Terry and wife Charlotte of Russellville, Alabama. Three grand-daughters: Morgan Terry Willis and husband Jonathan of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Lauren Terry of Russellville, Alabama; and Brooke Terry of Mobile, Alabama.
Harold was also considered grandfather by step-children Kim Lange Roberts (Steve) & their children, Thomas and Clay Roberts; Kris Lange (Brigitte) & their children Tennyson & Eliot Lange; Ronnie Dale Mathis, Julie Pittman, Lewie Jarman, and Josh Jarman.
Pastor Butch Kelly will be officiating at the services.
Pallbearers will be Bert Fleming, Wayne Weir, Walt Diggs, Tommy McDaniel, Ben Matlock, and Steve Ryals.Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Boler, Sonny Diggs, Terrell Cobb, Billy Safley, John Rayford Ellison, Hub Jackson, and Marvin Coward.
