James Robert Arnold , 58, of Vaiden, Mississippi, formerly of Greenwood, died Monday, December 5, 2022 at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home with visitation 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Roundaway Baptist Church Cemetery in Sunflower County. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate the services.

James was born November 10, 1964 in Greenwood, to James Henry Arnold and Virginia Prewett Arnold.  He was a member of Christ Baptist Church and a graduate of Pillow Academy. He started working with his father repairing engines on Main Street and then went into the trucking business. He was the owner of Arnold Transportation and Gravel Hill Construction Corporation. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working on different projects. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Shelby Nicole Arnold.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy Arnold of Vaiden; daughter, Lilly Arnold of Vaiden; son, Tucker Arnold and wife Kristen of Greenwood; sister, Sissy Long and husband Charles of Greenwood; parents, James Henry Arnold and Virginia Arnold of Greenwood; brother, Doug Arnold of Nashville; and  three nephews, one niece, and one great-nephew.

Pallbearers will be Bill Thornburg, Jamey Mims, Steve Harris, Andy Holliday, Troy Smith, and Eddie Fancher. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Smith, Jim Campbell, Jeremy Beckwith and Mac McNeer.
