James Neal Cannon, 53, of Minter City, MS, died Sunday, November 10, 2024, at his residence. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in McNutt Cemetery with visitation 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Jackson will officiate.
He was born January 17, 1971, in Greenwood, MS, to Edgar Barry Cannon and Betty Meeks Cannon. He was a lifelong member of Minter City Baptist Church, but currently attended Schlater Baptist Church. He was a longtime employee of Milwaukee Tool in Greenwood. He is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Barry Cannon, sister, Cheri Cannon Mims, and granddaughter, Lynlee Cannon.
He is survived by his wife, Alisha Cannon of Minter City, MS; sons, James Tate Cannon and wife Angel of Tishomingo, MS, and Tyler Meeks Cannon and wife Hallie of Holcomb, MS; daughter, Kindsey Rose Cannon of Minter City, MS; mother, Betty Meeks Cannon of Schlater, MS; brother, Barry Cannon, Jr and wife Lisia of Mathiston, MS; sister, Vicki Cannon Counts and husband Ronnie of Schlater, MS; stepdaughter, Kaylyn Shute and husband Athan of Sidon, MS; step son, Tyler Kent of Sidon, MS; grandchildren, Sawyer, Jaiden, Liam, Willow, and Clover; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tate Cannon, Matt Counts, John Hodges, Ronnie Counts, Billy Morris, and Matthew Brown.
