James Lee "Jimmy" McCaleb, 84, of Itta Bena, MS, died Friday, July 8, 2022 at Allegiance Specialty Hospital in Greenville, MS.  Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Itta Bena Cemetery with visitation 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Rev. Preston Kelly, Jr. will officiate.

Jimmy was born February 21, 1938 to David Reed McCaleb and Addie McCaleb in Indianola, MS. Jimmy was owner of McCaleb's Furniture Company in Itta Bena for forty six years. Over the years he owned and operated other businesses and he loved taking care of the business. He loved life every day, and he loved his dog and goldfish. He loved to hear good news about his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He always kept his longtime employee Diane Rounds and her family on his mind and he always said something nice about people.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Itta Bena. He loved our Lord and lived by the word of God. He left us lots of good memories. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister.

Jimmy is survived by his children, Ricky McCaleb and wife Pam of Coffeeville, MS, and Jeff McCaleb of Itta Bena, MS, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby McCaleb, Eddie McCaleb, John McCaleb, Benny McCaleb, Michael D. Rounds, and Carrollton Davidson.
