James Millard McBride 78, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died Monday, July 6, 2026, at St. Francis Park Hospital in Memphis, TN. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, in McBride Cemetery in Carroll County. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. before the service at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Bro. Tim McBride will officiate the services.

James was born on April 9, 1948, in Greenwood, to the late Belma McBride and Frances Lewis McBride. He worked as a lineman for Mississippi Power and Light and Greenwood Utilities until his retirement.  He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy Ann Dallas McBride; and son, Richard Blackwell.

He is survived by his son, Jason McBride (Bethany) of Hernando, MS; daughters, Beth Montgomery (Patrick) of Carrollton, MS, and Donna Blackwell Pearson (Greg) of Winona, MS; brothers, Alton McBride of Greenwood, MS, and Tim McBride of Winona, MS; sister, Sandra Gardner of Nashville, TN; ten grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Montgomery, Austin Montgomery, Noah Montgomery, Quinn McBride, Josh McBride, and Caleb McBride.
