James Arman Thornhill, 80, of Carrollton died Friday, June 20, 2014 at his residence. Services will be 2:00PM Monday, June 23, 2014 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenwood, MS. Visitation will be 1:00Pm Monday before the service at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Rev. John Shackleford will officiate at the services.
Mr. Thornhill was born September 4, 1933 to Alvia and Pearlie Thornhill. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a member of the Communication Workers of America. He retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. He served in the 86th Inf RGT, 10th Inf Division in Bremerhaven Germany. He was also an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Thornhill is survived by his wife JoAnn Thornhill of Carrollton, sons Bryan Thornhill and wife Kathie of Greenwood, Terry Thornhill and wife Lady of Grenada, and Michael Thornhill and wife Kim of Herando. He is also survived by five grandchildren Alden Thornhill, Gardner Thornhill of Greenwood, Nicholas Thornhill and Blake Thornhill of Grenada, Meghan Thornhill of Hernando and his nephew Felip Colon and wife Lana of Carrollton.
Pallbearers will be Nick Thornhill, Bill Bailey, William Vaughn, Ricky Bagwell, Roger Bright, and Mike Barth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alden Thornhill, Terry Wiggins and Dr Michael Boler.
