Janet Mae Hayes , 74, of Coila, MS, died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at her residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12 p.m. till service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hillview Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Dennis McKay will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. Eddie Carpenter. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hayes was born January 21, 1943 to Luther and Daisy Lee Winters. She was a member of Vine Life Fellowship Baptist Church and was a devoted mother and wife. She loved spending time with her grandbabies, gardening, fishing, and camping. She worked for Baldwin Piano and Irvin Automotive for many years. She and her husband also owned Hayes Grocery in Greenwood. Janet had a big heart and loved everyone. She was preceded in death by her son, Ollie Reece White, brother, Mack Haven Winters, and her parents.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jerry Fate Hayes of Coila, MS; son, Wardean Lee Woodard of Black Hawk, MS; daughters, Sylvia Renee Wells of Black Hawk, MS, Nancy Ann White of Forrest, MS, Mary Ann Everette of Greenwood, MS, Judy Hayes Brown of Black Hawk, MS, and son, Shelby Fate Hayes of Greenwood, MS; sister, Shirley Foster Smith of Greenwood, MS; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Cody Wayne Beavers, Dean Lee Woodard, Jr., Travis Keith Tucker, Austin Eugene Montgomery, Tracy Samuel Robertson, and Hunter Rye Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be Corey James Wells and Jamison Bailey.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
