Services for Jean Carroll Langley will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.
Mrs. Langley, age 83, died on Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born on August 15, 1934 in Indianola, MS, to James and Linnie Tadlock Carroll. She lived in the Mississippi Delta her entire life. She graduated from Riverside High School in Avon, MS, in 1952. Mrs. Langley enjoyed sewing, gardening, especially tending to her roses, and playing golf. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren more than anything. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Lafayette Carroll and Linnie Lorene Tadlock Carroll of Hollandale, MS; a twin brother, James William Carroll of Hollandale, MS; and a great grandson, Julian D. Conway of Greenwood, MS.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James A. Langley of Greenwood, MS; daughters, Deborah L. Mitchell and her husband James F. Mitchell of Cleveland, MS, Donna L. Switzer and her husband Richard E. Switzer of Starkville, MS, and Diana L. Goode of Greenwood, MS;a brother, Jimmy Ray Carroll and his wife Jan of Hollandale, MS; grandchildren, William L. MacNeill of Bakersfield, CA, Adrianne B. Conway of Greenwood, MS, Jameson F. Mitchell of Gulfport, MS, B.J. MacNeill of Starkville, MS, Courtney D. Mitchell of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Anna K. Goode of Madison, MS, Ross M. Goode III of Greenwood, MS, and Grayson I. Mitchell of Cleveland, MS; and her only great grandson, Jacob D. Conway, of Greenwood, MS.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Clayton will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be BJ MacNeill, Ross Goode, Jr., Ross Goode, III, Jameson Mitchell, Chase Brown, William MacNeill, Bobby Thomas, and Josh Conway. Interment will be in Odd Fellows East Cemetery following the services.
Wilson & Knight is in charge. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church or St Judes Children's Hospital. An online guestbook can be signed at www.wilsonandknight.com .
