Funeral services for Jetty Young, 92, of Greenwood, MS, who died on Monday, July 13, 2020 will be graveside in McNutt Cemetery in Schlater, MS, on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
Jetty, who was born April 5, 1928 to Marion "Mae" Williams and Draper Gary Williams, lived her childhood in Schlater, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 62 years, Robert J. Young; sisters, Claudia Elliott, and Itasca Williams; and her parents.
Jetty is survived by her daughters, Connie Boylan of Chapel Hill, NC, and Sally Young Hoch (Scott) of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Cameron Hoch (Christal) of Estero, FL, and Katie Loschiavo (Larry) of Orlando, FL; great grandchildren Lillian Hoch and McKenzie Hoch; and brother, Will G. Williams (Sadie) of Houma, LA; brother in law, Dr. David Young of Dallas, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Jetty attended Memphis School of Commerce and returned to Greenwood upon completion. After marrying, she and Bob lived in Raleigh, NC, for 45 years, before moving home to Greenwood. She later moved to Orlando, FL and returned to live in Greenwood.
She was a charter member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Jetty was active in the DAR, Four Seasons Garden Club and Early Settlers of Leflore County.
The Reverend Dr. Billy Ray Stonestreet and Reverend Dr. Scott Wright will officiate the service. Wilson and Knight Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Matt Gnemi, Will Gnemi, Tim Tyler, Matthew Gnemi, Walker Sturdivant, and Chip Upchurch.
Memorials can be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 1001 Grand Boulevard, Greenwood, MS.
