Jimmie Anderson Braswell
Services for Jimmie Anderson Braswell, of Greenwood, will be held Wednesday January 07, 2015 1:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS 38930
Mr. Braswell, age 87 died on Sunday January 04, 2015 at his Residence of heart failure.
He was born on July 12, 1927 in Indianola, MS to the late Leslie Anderson and Ethel Hawkins Braswell. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and was stationed in the Pacific during WW II. He farmed for 50 years in Tchula and was a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Tchula and New Hope Baptist Church in Coila. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant son Johnny Hayward Braswell.
He is survived by Wife, of 69 years, Dorothy Strain Braswell of Greenwood, MS, four Sons, Andy(Janie) Braswell of Itta Bena, MS, Tommy (Linda Gail) Braswell of Ridgeland, MS, Jerry Braswell of Koscuisko, MS, and Mike(Debbie) Braswell of Lexington, MS, Sister, Claudine Cortner of Brandon, Ms. Brother, Kenny Horne of Little Rock, AR, ten grandchildren, Andrea (Andrew) Neal, Andy (Tracy) Braswell Jr., Alicia (Blaine) Adams, Dr. Kevin (Leigh Ann) Braswell, Jason (Ashley) Braswell, Beth (Rhyne) Hooks, Marcie (Craig) Rozier, Justin (Eleanor) Braswell, Aaron Braswell, Mariah Paige Braswell, and twenty one great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 07, 2015 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Larry Edwards and Rev James Sadler will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Andy Braswell, Jr, Dr. Kevin Braswell, Jason Braswell, Justin Braswell, Aaron Braswell, Andrew Neal, Blaine Adams, Rhyne Hooks, Craig Rozier, and Dink Strain. A private family burial will be in Bethsaida Cemetery.
