Joann McComb Woody died Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Indywood Glen in Greenwood.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday, September 22, 2014, at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, and funeral services will follow at 11 am.

Mrs. Woody was born in Kennett, Missouri, on March 16, 1932, to George Floyd & Stella McComb. Mrs. Woody was retired. She and her husband were former owners of Woody's Liberty Supermarket of Greenwood and Itta Bena. Before moving to Greenwood from West Memphis, Arkansas, in August 1966, she worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and a communicant of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity. Mrs. Woody was preceded in death by her husband, Melvis C. Woody parents, George & Stella McComb, a brother, Glenn McComb, and a sister, Mildred Hricsina.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Woody Archer (Ray); and two sons, Mel Woody, and Gary Woody (Cindy); 4 grandchildren: Scott Archer (Hannah), Jason Archer, Thomas Woody, and Elizabeth Woody, and 3 great-grandchildren Ethan Archer, Levi Archer, and Luke Archer.

Pallbearers will be Jason Archer, Scott Archer, Ray Archer, Larry Gnemi, Larry Joe Makamson, and Thomas Woody.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Westminister Presbyterian Church, or Episcopal Church of Nativity. Wilson and Knight Funeral Home is in charge.
