Services for Joe Giardina will be held Friday, September 25, 2020 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood, MS. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Giardina, age 84, died on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. He was born on June 25, 1936 in Greenwood, to the late Joseph Anthony and Rosina Giardina Giardina.

He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Brosssie Giardina, sister, Mary Rose Giardina Graham, and niece, Gina Theresa Graham.

Joe literally was born the same year Giardiana's Restaurant opened and worked there his entire life. He graduated from Sewanee Military Academy in 1954 and was a US Army Veteran. He was a lifelong communicant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He was a genial and flamboyant character typical of the Mississippi Delta.

Having never married he was devoted to the Catholic Church, taking care of family and the house on Grand Boulevard, which over the decades won yard of the month. His passions included visiting family in New Orleans, eating out, always dressing his best, and maintaining his car's appearance. He loved his Cadillacs with the soft rag top and could often be seen out and about in Greenwood.

He is survived by his godson and nephew, Bob Graham of New Orleans, LA; and a niece, Lisa Graham of Southaven, MS. Father Jose Sanchez will officiate the services.

Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood.
