John D. "Tad" Ashcraft III, 62 of Greenwood died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. There will a private memorial service held for the family later. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ashcraft was born April 19, 1952 in Missouri to John Dunklin and Joanna Gilliam Ashcraft, Jr. He graduated from Greenwood High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Delta State University in biology. He was employed by Fed Ex as a courier for 26 years. He loved spending time with his family and being with his animals. He loved watching sports, especially Nascar. He preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Ashcraft is survived by his wife Susan Ashcraft of Greenwood, his daughter Janie Elizabeth Hardin Ashcraft of Columbus, MS and his son John Dunklin Ashcraft, IV of Ridgeland, MS. He is also survived by his mother Joanna Gilliam Ashcraft of Greenwood and three sisters Mary Joanne Ashcraft Austin of Grenada, MS, Josephine Thompson Saunders Ashcraft Austin of Winona, MS and Margaret Frances Redding Ashcraft of Pope, MS and his brother John Edwin Gilliam Ashcraft of Greenwood, MS.
