Services for John Wilmer Edwards, Jr. of Tchula will be at 1pm on Tuesday at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood.
Mr. Edwards, 64, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his residence.
Wilmer was a lifelong resident of Tchula living on Belmont. He was a graduate of Cruger Tchula Academy and attended Mississippi Delta Community College. Wilmer was a second generation farmer. He had a love for the Mississippi Delta and the outdoors. He spent most of his time in the hills of Coxburg. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Wilmer Edwards (Dago) and Willie Bell Edwards, and his wife Janet Thompson Edwards. He is survived by his daughter, Stefanie Edwards Charles of Montgomery, TX. and husband Chad, his son John Jason Edwards of Denver, CO. and wife Amanda, his daughter Mauri Edwards Smith of Greenwood and husband Fraiser; his grandchildren John Tanner Vandevere, Cody Woods, Taylor Charles, Lanna Edwards, Morgan Edwards, and Hattie Smith.
Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. The Brother Larry Edwards of Tchula Baptist Church will officiate at the services.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Franklin, Timmy Franklin, Robert Hutton, Cemer Wilson, Bruce Taylor, Larry Killebrew and Don Keith Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Paul Dickard, Mike Braswell, Dorsey Cockrell, Oliver McLean and Willie James Granderson. Burial will be in Sidon Cemetery.
